FRIDA YNGVESSON


frida is a contemporary dancer and dance teacher from sweden. after successfully graduating from the ballet academy of gothenburg, she began dancing in musical shows and opera productions in germany, to include der zauberflöte in der u-bahn and orpheus & eurydike in bode-museum berlin, produced by TOCC under the direction of christoph hagel. gravitating more towards contemporary dance, site specific performances and the art scene she went on to work with choreographers and artists such as anna asplind, daniel gonzalez, israel aloni and marcel tarelkin.


in 2009, she co-founded the dance company FAS, where she herself danced as well as presented her own work at various venues in berlin and as part of the cultural festival of gothenburg. she was also a founding member of the dub-be-do performance group (2009 to 2011) focusing in site specific performances and collaborating with marzia frozen gallery at LA54, berlin.


frida has been involved in interdisciplinary collectives, such as the KRISIS project, which build live performances, focusing on live music, vjing and dance improvisation. frida is a member of the audio ballerinas, an interdisciplinary project of artist benoit maubrey, combining sound and movement into site specific performances. working with the audio ballerinas allowed her to perform internationally at oerol festival, netherlands (2011) statt farbe: licht bauhaus, dessau (2012) SESC, sao paulo brazil (2012) european cultural capital, slovenia (2012) and maerzmusik berliner festspiele, berlin (2014).
